2015 has seen a significant increase in the number of international students enrollments in Malaysian institutions.
The minister of higher education Idris Jusoh said that a total of 151,979 international students are in Malaysia, 80.3 percent of which are enrolled in higher learning institutions.
The UNESCO stated that Malaysia is among the top favorite education destinations in the world for international students citing quality of life, education, cost of living and cultural diversity among the reasons behind Malaysia's attractive reputation.
The country aims to attract 200,000 students by 2020 and has implemented new systems and a governing body to facilitate the process of admitting international students faster and ensure the quality of students is within the expectations of The Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia.
