Exam results are not a determinant of one's life, but the potential and talent of every student should be polished with the skills and values to enable them to compete in the 21st century.

In line with this, the Ministry of Education (MOE) to provide access to quality education through the transformation of education under the Malaysian Education Blueprint (2013-2025), to put the country among the top one-third of the world's best education systems.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk P.Kamalanathan I said, leading the ministry to change the paradigm of the Malaysian society is too focused on the examination to the integrated education system involving all levels of society.

"Exam do not dictate everything, it is the first step towards the development of character and self-esteem of our children as citizens who can contribute to this beloved country.

"Thus, the student should be developed in a holistic manner to provide their password glorious future.

"Give them a chance to shine brilliantly by inclination and talent that is on them," he said.

According to him, the changing landscape of higher education and the economy also demands a new generation to lead the future.

"With the rapid technological developments that affect life today, we need to think about the skills and values ??that must be held by our students that will meet the challenges of the future that we can not imagine.

According to him, the role of teachers has changed from imparting knowledge to facilitate the learning process with the active involvement of students in a group.

"Teachers are now encouraging students to seek information outside the classroom through a variety of sources and media.

"Identify their talents and abilities and how it can be fostered in order to become citizens who can contribute to the country.

"Teachers are also more open to working with parents because they realize that their success requires collective cooperation of all parties," he said.

He said the government also gives oppurtunities to those who are skilled have a degree, a master's degree and a doctorate (PhD) in their respective fields through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) in institutions of higher learning (IPT) in the country.

"Working does not mean stopping one's journey towards higher education.

"The government is promoting lifelong learning that can be obtained at any time and anywhere, be it face-to-face or online," he said.
