Govt considering to have more streams in secondary schools

- The Ministry of Higher Education submitted a proposal to add the number of streams offered in secondary schools.
- Deputy Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said that more options aside from Science or Arts subjects would better prepare students for tertiary education
- He also added that this move can also help students specialise a lot earlier and be more employable.
- Certain schools already offer other streams where students can pick subjects like economics and accounts.
- He explained that science stream students do have the option to take up extra subjects but they do not have the flexibility to drop any of their science subjects.
- He thinks this is a good move because students nowadays are more decisive about their futures
