Kaunselor Halatuju expressed his shock upon finding out that students are taking high risks when it comes to the dilemma between matriculation and Form 6.

Two days in a row I organized a program with Form 6 students who just registered. Some students who already got offered to enter matriculation decided to decline the offer and join Form 6 instead. I personally feel that this is such a risky move, especially to the students.
Some of the issues that worried me were:
- students who did not confirm the offer to enter matriculation
- students who are afraid they will not receive an offer from UPU (due to accepting Matriculation offer)
- students who enter Form 6 and rejected the offer from matriculation for being afraid not getting UPU

My advice about the safest way to decide between Form 6 or Matriculation:
- Make sure that you accept the matriculation offer.
- Accepting the offer to matriculation does not affect your UPU application at all.
- Accepting the matriculation offer does not make you a matriculation student, as those who want to go to matriculation need to do the matriculation online registration from 9 - 31 May 2016.
- Even registering online does not make you a matriculation student just yet.
- This is because, students are required to make a payment before physically registering at your respective matriculation institutions on 5, 6 or 7 June. After this registration, only then you will officially become a matriculation student.
- Since UPU results will be announced this 16 May 2016, you still have time (if you fail t get placements through UPU) to complete your online matriculation registration before 31 May 2016.
- The next step is to pay the registration fee in order to complete your registation as a matriculation student.
- The same thing applies if you receive offers from UPU. If you decide to go for UPU, then there is no need to proceed with the matriculation online registration.
You will officially become a matriculation student by completing these 4 steps:
- Accept the offer
- Register online (9 - 31 May 2016)
- Pay the registration fee
- Physically register at your respective matriculation institution (5, 6 ar 7 June 2016)
