The number of STPM 2015 perfect scorers has slightly dipped compared to last year. However, the national CGPA has improved.
Malaysian Examination Council Chairman, Professor Mohamed Mustafa Ishak stated that 2015 had less number of candidates with CGPA of 4.0 compared to 2014 (335 candidates in 2015 and 390 in 2014).
However, due to a significant increase in the number of candidates with CGPA of 3.0 and above, and a similar case for candidates with CGPA 2.5 and above, the national CGPA has improved from 2.62 to 2.65.
Mr Ishak hopes that a consistently improved performance will definitely bridge the gap between candidates from urban and rural areas. The chairman highlighted that among 41,987 candidates, there were 6,602 candidates from the Science stream.
