Yayasan Terengganu to save money by stopping overseas scholarships

Money-saving response to central government's advice.

Terengganu Foundation (YT) will reduce or stop sending students abroad in stages in response to the recommendations of the central government to manage expenses more prudently.

There are currently 650 students abroad sponsored by YT at an expenditure of up to RM60 million per year.

It's Director, Mohamad Sulong said that they will be prioritizing scholarships for local higher education institutions in the near future.
