<p>The one-year Foundation in Engineering programme is the preferred route for many Malaysians and international students to access engineering courses in Multimedia University. Set in a campus environment that enriches their preparation for degree studies, the programme&rsquo;s curriculum focuses on delivering preparatory engineering subjects to equip students with strong fundamentals in order to excel with confidence. In addition to analytical and technical knowledge, the programme also focuses on equipping students with critical thinking and interpersonal skills to succeed not only in their undergraduate studies, but more importantly, as independent life-long learners.</p>
<p>After completion of the foundation programme you can opt for a degree programme from either Faculty of Engineering (FOE) or Faculty of Engineering &amp; Technology (FET).</p>

<h3 class="common-heading">Eligibility Requirements</h3>

<p class="common-text">Applicants should have passed intermediate or PUC from Mathematics, Physics &amp; Chemistry from any recognized board of Malaysia to get enrolled under the bachelor level of courses in engineering such as, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.). The eligibility for enrolling under master level programs of engineering is BE/ B.Tech passed from any recognized colleges or universities in Malaysia.</p>

<h3 class="common-heading">Education Pathway</h3>

<p class="common-text">The students can start their career in engineering by successfully enrolling themselves under the bachelor level of courses (B.E./B.Tech.) available under different colleges or universities. This will be a four year course comprising of all the major subject of study in the engineering field as per the stream chosen by the students. This can be followed by the master level and doctoral level courses as per the qualification of students applying for the same.</p>

<p class="common-text">An engineer is required in almost all types of concerns whether commercial or construction or financial undertakings. It is one of those streams which is widely required to look after the Technology related tasks under any commercial or non-commercial concern. An engineer is required to run the software as well as hardware of your operating machine and at the same time providing useful technical solutions for the same, if any issue crops up.</p>

All the school –leavers can enroll in a Foundation /Pre University Program to get a fair understanding of the university education as well as make themselves ready to face the actual challenge associated with the university education. </p><h6 class="common-heading"><b>Name of Course:</b> PUC/ Foundation</h6><h6 class="common-heading"><b>Duration of Course:</b> 1 year</h6><h6 class="common-heading"><b>Eligibility:</b> Matriculation/ Class 10</h6><h3 class="common-heading">Basics or Overview</h3><p class="common-text">If you are preparing to enter into a university, then taking up a short Pre Degree or Pre University Course could be the best option for you. A Pre Degree Course or PUC is the first choice of all those candidates who are looking out to enter into a degree course after school education.  The PUC degrees are specially very useful for all those candidates who are opting for a 10 year school and move on to the degree courses after their 2 years of PUC completed from any junior college.</p><h3 class="common-heading">Opportunities for Career Growth after PUC</h3><p class="common-text">Those who successfully apply for the PUC after their 10 years of schooling are ready to apply for several streams of degree courses through the government organized common entrance test. The students can enroll themselves in a variety of programs through a Pre University Course such as –Bahelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Management, if they belong to Commerce stream; Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Sciences, if they belong to an Arts stream; Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Pharmacy; If they belong to Science stream, then Bachelor of Science and in case of Mathematics/ Science Stream, it will be Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Agriculture or Medicine respectively.</p><h3 class="common-heading">What to choose?</h3><p class="common-text">Students can get a number of colleges in Malaysia offering a Pre University Degree Course or Pre Degree Courses. However, it becomes necessary for all the prospective students to make a right choice in their search for a suitable college. For instance, FTMS College offers Foundation Course or Pre University Course of one year duration in Business Information Technology. The foundation or Pre University Courses are offered by both government funded institutions as well as private colleges. The students who are planning to give at least one year to their Pre Degree Courses should take up the Foundation Courses. On the other hand, a bridging course will be just a semester for you to complete. Some of the international universities offer direct entry based Foundation Programs that can give a direct entry to the students under the second year of the undergraduate or post graduate programs that they wish to enroll themselves into. </p></div>
